Damn anyone else having problems connecting to the server? I can get through the login screen and see my characters. But when I click a char and click next, it says "Connecting to the server..." but just stays there. Nothing happens. If I cancel and click next again, it brings me to the big loading screen but remains at "connecting to the server."

Last time I was logged on, the client froze up on me (this is my crappy comp with major overheated permanent damage) so I clicked the power button to restart. Would that cause this?

Check SWGEmu's site to see if server is up. The status on the left menu bar (scroll to bottom) is accurate about 95%+ of the time.


When you click on the char and hit next to log on to server, it can take awhile to get in if server is busy....just let it crank....

This is what was happening to me yesterday when I crashed in Lok during that server event thing.

For some reason swgemu.com isn't loading for me atm. On launch pad, the right hand side (where it lists the patch notes, etc.) is blank, with "program can't display the webpage."

Maybe me forcing the computer off during a lag freeze ingame did this? Or is the server down, since the site is down?

Site's been up and down for last 48 hours or so, but game has been up for agood portion of that time.

I was hoping to log in this morning, but didn't get a chance. The server did go down at some point last night.

Jill said it was up this morning, but it may be down again for maintenance.

The server is actually REALLY stable now (except for when 8 million people converge on one location for a free giveaway ) If the server is offline, it is pobably offline on purpose.

Trying to use the trial to D/L the game required me to put in a credit card on the launchpad.

I'm not even going to think about doing that, so I'll have to find another way.

I can log in again but now I'm certain my current comp can't handle the game. Lots of lag, lock ups, etc. I'm going to get my laptop's fan and etc. cleaned out - should improve it. My bro's gaming laptop should be reformatted later today, so gonna be using that. Hopefully my WoW character is restored this week too. All this lag is giving me flashbacks of Coronet. Was my main city but the lag just simply sucked.

Btw Weeb, after you install the client, do not start the game. Download Launch Pad enhanced instead, it should patch it for you. Only use LPE to play.

D/L Launchpad enhanced after installing trial

I got the launchpad enhanced, but it wouldn't DL the game files unless i gave SOE a credit card.

PirateBay has the game pre - CU plus the patches 1-13, but when i used the launchpad it patched itself took an hour tho to finish patching.

Check the SWG homepage. There should be an option there to download the client for those that need it. It installed the station client for me and then let me log into my station account and download the game. I checked to make sure I didn't still have an active account with SOE, and I didn't. It may work for you unless I stumbled on some returning vet 1 month free thing.

Damnit, can't login again (after hitting the power button in Coronet). Hopefully this is temporary like the last time, but now on the right hand side of the launcher, the patch notes do show up and the servers are listed online. I can login to the account but can't get ingame with my char.

Is this happening to you guys regularly?

This is wierd. Server has been really stable lately.

I went on IRC and other players said server is "deadlocked" which means it shows up but is not. it is locked up and needs reset by European team when they wake up

Okay I can log in again. I guess it's an on and off thing lol. Right now I have less than 1000 creds, no vehicle, no armor, no VKs. Running to missions takes forever, one of my missions actually ended up underwater so that was a huge waste. On the way to the 2nd one I got raped by a CorSec turret and got slain, which sucked.

I forgot how hard the game was at the start. Anything I should be doing to make this faster? Vehicle costs 10k+. I think that will be the first thing I'll get.

I get missions underwater all the time, you can still fight the mobs and the lair.

We need to group up to get some fast xp for people. Maybe Friday night we can plan something?

I'm still working on getting Moose's account unbanned so he can play, but they aren't moving fast about it.

Sent an email Saturday, no response, and talked in IRC chat last night to a dev that told me to post, and when I made teh post another dev told me to email. So just waiting.

FYI to anyone who has a spouse that is wanting to play, talk to a dev first so they wont ban the 2nd account. And for the love of god, don't play at a friends house or they'll band you too
