God, I flower love Google.
Sarge: "Straight up the middle? That's like hittin' 'em from behind... but in front!"
Commander Adama: "They better start having babies."
Colonel Tigh: "Is that an order?"

It said competitive pricing. I'm imagining that they are doing this to scare the pants off of the big ISPs so they get their act together.

Its a really small pilot program, 500k users
Don't really think thats alot to scare anyone, if it really gets rolling though it would be very interesting to see what that does to both cable and phone providers, with google voice if they change the plan or offer a low cost subscription instead of a pay as you go for off network calls. The only thing they would need is to roll in television service.

Just took it to my Boss...He will be filling out the paperwork. He thinks our chances might be good, since we have Verizon HQ right here in town. :) They would love to get in here I bet.

It's not a official name change...just a proclomation that residents should use the name google instead of topeka.

No, the postal system isn't affected. Just the mayor's part of the Think Big Topeka campaign.

If you're looking for something online "Topeka" it.

Though this probably shouldn't be in a thread whose title includes "the non-april fools version"
